I was wondering what to make for snack. I had 4 leftover idlis. So here’s what I did.
Time taken : 20 minutes
Yields: 16-18
Ingredients:
- 4 idlis
- Bread crumbs
- 1 boiled potato
- 1-1/2 cup cooked vegetables
- Chopped coriander
- Green chilli and ginger paste
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- Salt
Procedure:
Make the idlis into crumbs in a mixing bowl. Add the bread crumbs, boiled potatoes and mixed vegetables. I used cabbage, peas and carrots. Instead of potatoes you can also add corn, yam, raw banana or beet root.
Now add the coriander, green chilli and ginger paste, Garam masala and salt.
Mix well and make flat round discs out of this mixture. Dust the flat discs with some powdered peanut. Alternatively, you may also dust them with all purpose flour or maida or corn flour.
Shallow fry them on a griddle.
Serve with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
