I’m back to blogging after a short break! My kid has his summer vacation and I did not even dream that vacations would be so damn busier than the school days. Moreover my parents are here with me so I’m chauffering them all around the place, shopping et all. I’m really having a gala time but miss blogging a lot too. So, I said to my self that no excuse is good enough and I need to post atleast once a week.
Well here is a coconut dish which is a perfect accompaniment to steamed rice.
Ingredients:

Method:
Heat oil in a kadai/ wok and add the mustard seeds.
Add urad dal and chana dal when the mustard seeds start spluttering and keep stirring till they turn golden.
Add the green chillies, red chillies, and asafetida in quick succession.
Add the tamarind paste and stir well.
Turn off the gas and add the coconut and salt and give it a stir.
Allow the mixture to cool.
Grind it into a smooth paste and serve with plain white rice, some ghee (clarified butter) and papad.
I love this with curd rice. Yummy combo…
