I was just filling up cereal for my son when I came across this recipe on the Kellog’s Corn flakes box. It looked irresistible and I thought it worth a try. I followed the original recipe with a few changes here and there.The original recipe asks you to crush the cereal whereas I actually powdered it. I also added some nutmeg powder. Also, the original recipe uses M & M chocolate candies but I just used some colorful cupcake decors.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 25- 30 minutes
- 6 cups Kellogs Corn Flakes cereal (crushed to 1-1/2 cups)
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
- 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cup M&M chocolate candies or any colorful decors
In a 8 inch baking pan combine the cereal butter and sugar. Mix thoroughly . With the back of the spoon firmly press the mixture on the bottom of the pan.
Spinkle the coconut, walnuts and drizzle the condensed milk evenly on top.
Sprinkle the M &M’s /decors.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or until lightly browned around edges. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Store in airtight container.
